Facebook Fan Page is like a fan club within Facebook. It is another type of account and you can create one even if you don’t have a Facebook Profile. The difference of Facebook Pages from Facebook profiles is that pages are commonly used by organizations, products, services and celebrities as fan clubs so that they can easily reach out to their fans. Not like a regular Facebook Profile which is limited to having 5,000 friends, a Facebook Fan Page doesn’t have any limit to the number of fans that it can have. When the owner or admin of a Facebook Page posts a status update, it will appear to the news feed of all the fans of that specific page. How do you promote your Facebook Fan Page and acquire new fans? Now that you’re familiar with the features of a Facebook Page, you might be wondering how you can get people to Suggest your page to your friends- Invite your friends to like your page and ask them if they could also recommend it to their friends. Post your Facebook Page URL on other social media sites- This will ensure that more people will come across your Fan Page increasing the chances of more people to “Like” it. If you’re a regular Twitter user then you can tweet your Facebook Page URL and easily get your followers to be your fans. Maintain content that is worth following- The challenge doesn’t stop when you have acquired fans. Keeping them is a bigger challenge so make sure that you maintain your Facebook Page up-to-date with posts that are worth reading. Avoid looking like a spambot- Be very picky with the posts that you make. You don’t want to scare your fans with the links on your posts, make sure that you don’t bomb them with irrelevant stuff that will push them to “Unlike” you. Find time to talk to your fans- Try to make it a point that you interact with your fans and never ever neglect them. Good and bad comments deserve a reply as this is your way of telling your fans that you care about what they have to say. It matters a lot to them when your Facebook Page serves as a communication tunnel to get a hold of you. This will motivate them to encourage their friends to “Like” your page. Quality over Quantity- You don’t want to stop just when you’ve acquired the number of fans that you want to have. There are chances that your fans might actually “Unlike” your page or stop reading your posts when you don’t seem interesting. Keep in mind that quality is something that shouldn’t be taken less care of. Don’t be after the number if you’re not doing your job of engaging people with your content. Put a personal touch of who you are- Fans like it when they get to know you better. Post the things that interest you, probably the latest song that makes you sing, your food cravings, holiday or weekend getaways and stuff like that. Your fans want to feel that there is actually a human behind that Fan Page. Organize events or games- This is a very effective way of gaining more fans. When you organize games or events, your fans will invite their friends to join the game and before joining, they will have to “Like” your page first. This will definitely gather more fans and get them engaged with your Facebook Page. Author: Joana Planning to create a Facebook page for your business or organization? Contact us!
